Leonard M. Fogelman is the founding partner of Fogelman & Fogelman LLC. Mr. Fogelman is a renowned expert in licensed beverage law and regulation. He specializes in the practice of law related to the alcohol beverage and hospitality industries. Mr. Fogelman represents major producers, importers and distributors of alcoholic beverages; liquor, wine and beer wholesalers; owners, operators, franchisors and franchisees of national hotel and restaurant venues; and the owners and operators of restaurants and supermarkets in New York State. His practice includes counseling alcoholic beverage industry clients on regulatory, contract, and licensing matters. He has appeared in matters before the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms, the Tax & Trade Bureau of the Department of the Treasury, the New York State Liquor Authority, the New York City Department of Health, the New York City Environmental Control Board, the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs, and various other state alcoholic beverage control and tax agencies.
A graduate of Queens College and Fordham Law School, he has lectured on alcoholic beverage related matters at New York University, at the Sommelier Society of America at Pace University Law School, and the New York State Bar Association's continuing legal education programs. He is counsel to the New York Alliance of Fine Wine Wholesalers. Mr. Fogelman is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and in New York State. He is a member of the American Bar and Queens County Bar Associations. He is considered one of the leading authorities of licensing law in the United States and was recently quoted in the New York Times in an article concerning licensing options in New York.
